Timothée Chalamet stars as our favourite chocolate-maker in Wonka, which is based on the Roald Dahl classic and sees Willy as a young man with dreams of making chocolate.

Based on the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, Wonka tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today. It is set to introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time—proving that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you’re lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible.

Directed and co-written by Paul King (Paddington) and produced by David Heyman, (Harry Potter) alongside producers Alexandra Derbyshire (Paddington) and Luke Kelly (Roald Dahl’s The Witches), the movie is set to give us a mix of magic and music, mayhem and emotion, all told with heart and humor.

Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2) and Paul King wrote the screenplay, based on a story by King and characters created by Roald Dahl.

It stars Timothée Chalamet (Dune) in the title role, Calah Lane (The Day Shall Come), Keegan-Michael Key (Schmigadoon), Paterson Joseph (Noughts + Crosses), Matt Lucas (Paddington), Mathew Baynton (Ghosts), Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Rowan Atkinson (Johnny English), Jim Carter (Downton Abbey), and Olivia Colman (Secret Invasions).

The film also stars Natasha Rothwell (White Lotus), Rich Fulcher (Disenchantment), Rakhee Thakrar (Sex Education), Tom Davis (Paddington 2) and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Zack Snyder’s Justice League).

Let’s head back to Arrakis this November for the second part of Denis Villeneuve’s epic sci fi Dune, based on the novel by Frank Herbert, which sees the saga continue with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast! Now we’ve been given our first real look of Dune: Part Two with the release of the trailer.

Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

“The first part was really a way to introduce the world to the audience, and now that this introduction has been done, the second part will be playtime!” said Villeneuve when we spoke to him in 2021 (before the second part had even been greenlit). “It’s just going to be having fun with the world and it will definitely be more cinematic and a pleasure to make.

“I think it’s going to be kind of awesome!”

The movie is directed by Villeneuve from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel.
