The Wheel Of Time fans rejoice! We still have to wait until September for the release of Season Two of the fantasy series, but Prime Video has released a sneak peek of Season Two at the end of the Season One finale episode (Episode 108) as a special surprise!

This sneak peek of the new season reflects the structure of The Wheel of Time book series by Robert Jordan, on which the series is based, where at the end of each novel, Jordan would add the first chapter of the next book as a preview.

Furthermore, the scene which has been made available—the opening from Episode 201—is an adaptation of the fan favourite “Darkfriend Social” prologue of the second novel of Jordan’s series, The Great Hunt, upon which Season Two is largely based.

For those who missed it, check out the trailer for Season Two…

Season Two of The Wheel of Time finds Rand al’Thor learning that he is The Dragon Reborn—a dangerous figure from history destined to save the world … or break it. Desperate to protect him from the Dark One, an army of powerful women must reckon with his burgeoning power and encroaching madness. The Wheel of Time turns, and the Last Battle approaches. Though Rand thought he destroyed the Dark One, evil is not gone from the world. In Season Two, threats new and very old seek out the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered over the world. The woman who found and guided them is now powerless to help, and so they must find other sources of strength. In each other, or themselves. In the Light … or the Dark.

The series stars Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) as Moiraine Damodred, Daniel Henney (Criminal Minds) as Lan Mandragoran, Josha Stradowski (Gran Turismo) as Rand al’Thor, Zoë Robins (Power Rangers Ninja Steel) as Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) as Egwene al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford (Obey) as Perrin Aybara, Dónal Finn (Rogue Heroes) as Mat Cauthon, and Ceara Coveney (Young Wallander) as Elayne Trakand.

As well as the first scene of Season Two, Prime Video has also released a special video of five things to remember before the release of the new season…

The five things to remember about the Wheel of Time Season one are:

  1. The search for the Dragon Reborn begins in the Two Rivers.
  2. The villagers are separated from one another on their journey.
  3. A self-proclaimed Dragon Reborn is found but proven to be false.
  4. The group reunites at Tar Valon, and Moiraine leads them to where The Dragon Reborn will be revealed.
  5. Rand fulfils the prophecy as the Dragon Reborn and battles who we thinks is The Dark One at The Eye of the World, breaking his seal and signalling a larger war to come.

Excited for Season Two? Tell us what you’re most looking forward to on our socials!

The Wheel of Time Season Two will premiere on Prime Video on 1 September.

A loyal companion for fans of The Wheel Of Time books and television series starring Rosamund Pike, Origins Of The Wheel Of Time allows readers to take a deep dive into the real-world history and mythology that inspired the world of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time.

Origins of The Wheel of Time is written by Michael Livingston, Secretary-General of the United States Commission on Military History and professor of medieval literature at The Citadel, with a Foreword by Harriet McDougal, Robert Jordan’s editor, widow, and executor of his estate.

The book includes a brand-new, redrawn world map by Ellisa Mitchell using change requests discovered in unpublished notes; An alternate scene from an early draft of The Eye of the World; The long-awaited backstory of Nakomi; An eight-page, full colour photo insert; The first official biography of Robert Jordan, and MORE!

This companion to the internationally bestselling series will delve into the creation of Robert Jordan’s novels, drawing from interviews and an unprecedented examination of his unpublished notes. Michael Livingston tells the behind-the-scenes story of who Jordan was, how he worked, and why he holds such an important place in modern literature.

The second part of the book is a glossary to the “real world” in The Wheel of Time. King Arthur is in The Wheel of Time. Merlin, too. But so are Alexander the Great and the Apollo Space Program, the Norse gods and Napoleon’s greatest defeat―and so much more.

Want to expand your understanding of the series or unearth the real-life influences that Jordan utilized in his world building? Of course you do and you can right here with SciFiNow as we’re giving away THREE copies of Origins Of The Wheel Of Time. All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one is answer the simple question below…

This competition closes on 22 November. Good luck!

Origins Of The Wheel Of Time by Michael Livingston is out on 10 November.
