“Marley was dead, to begin with…” We all know Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. From Scrooged to A Muppets Christmas Carol, the classic festive story has been re-told since it was first released waaaaaaay back in 1843. Now, Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer will be starring in their very own take on the story with Spirited, a new musical comedy due to be released this December on Apple+.

In Spirited, each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself reexamining his own past, present and future.

Directed by Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home), written by Sean Anders and John Morris (Dumb And Dumber To), with original songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land), the movie stars Ryan Reynolds (Free Guy), Will Ferrell (Elf) and Octavia Spencer (Ma).
