Motherland: Fort Salem Cast
Motherland: Fort Salem follows three young women as they go from basic magical combat training to deployment (via THR). The leads are Raelle (Taylor Hickson, Deadly Class), a reluctant recruit whose mother was killed in the line of duty; Tally (Jessica Sutton, The Kissing Booth), a kind, strong-willed and curious witch who enlisted over her mother’s objections; and Abigail (Ashley-Nicole Williams), an alpha from a long line of successful military witches. A fourth witch named Scylla (played by Amalia Holm), will get involved as “a playful yet dark and mischievous recruit who’s not what she appears to be.”
Demetria McKinney (Saints & Sinners) also stars in the role of Anacostia, “a drill sergeant whose chief concern is keeping the recruits alive through basic training.” Lyne Renee (Deep State) recurs as General Sarah Alder, “the highest-ranking officer in the Armed Forces and the only leader the witches have ever known.”
Motherland: Fort Salem Story
Motherland: Fort Salem imagines a world in which not only are witches real…they’re soldiers. Sometime in the 17th Century, witches made a pact with the U.S. government to help fight their wars. Sound intriguing? That’s only the beginning! Per Freeform’s description of the series:
“Set in an alternate, present-day America where witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the burgeoning U.S. government to fight for their country, Motherland: Fort Salem follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into terrifying and thrilling early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped, with women on the front lines fighting looming terrorist threats that are strikingly familiar to our world, but with supernatural tactics and weapons.”
