Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One), from a screenplay by Edwards, and Chris Weitz (Rogue One, The Golden Compass), the movie stars John David Washington (Tenet), Gemma Chan (Eternals), Ken Watanabe (Inception), Sturgill Simpson (The Hunt), Madeleine Yuna Voyles, and Allison Janney (The West Wing).
“I went on a road trip across America through the farmlands of the Midwest and saw this strange factory in the middle of this tall grass. The way I’m wired is I picture everything as science fiction,” Gareth Edwards recently said when asked where he got the idea of the story. “I thought, what if it was a robot factory? What would you think if you were a robot being built? What would you think the first time you stepped outside into the world? All the way home, I kept having more ideas that kept fleshing out the story.
“By the time we arrived, I had this sort of had the whole film in my head, which is usually a really good sign that you’re on to something that you’re going to enjoy making.”
The Creator will be released in cinemas on 29 September. Watch more trailers at the SciFiNow YouTube channel.
