“You and I are going to change the world…” Netflix has released details for its new series Shadow And Bone. Released next year, we still have a while to wait but in the meantime, check out the teaser trailer…
Based on Leigh Bardugo’s worldwide bestselling Grishaverse novels, Shadow And Bone finds us in a war-torn world where lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov has just unleashed an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free. With the monstrous threat of the Shadow Fold looming, Alina is torn from everything she knows to train as part of an elite army of magical soldiers known as Grisha. But as she struggles to hone her power, she finds that allies and enemies can be one and the same and that nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. There are dangerous forces at play, including a crew of charismatic criminals, and it will take more than magic to survive.
From writer Eric Heisserer (Arrival, Bird Box) who also acts as showrunner and executive producer, Shadow And Bone is directed by Lee Toland Krieger (whose credits include episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Superman And Lois) and will be told over eight, one-hour episodes.
The cast includes Jessie Mei Li, Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, Kit Young, Ben Barnes, Sujaya Dasgupta, Danielle Galligan, Daisy Head, Simon Sears, Calahan Skogman, Zoë Wanamaker, Kevin Eldon, Julian Kostov, Luke Pasqualino, Jasmine Blackborow and Gabrielle Brooks.
Shadow And Bone will be released in April 2021 only on Netflix.
