The Power Rangers are turning 30 this year (we know, we’re feeling old too) and to celebrate, Netflix is releasing a Mighty Morphin special, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, which will see the return of some of the original heroes to battle against Rita Repulsa, who is revealed to have killed Trini, the original Yellow Power Ranger.
Check out the trailer here…
Thirty years after the wise and powerful Zordon formed the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the team comes face to face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs.
The Anniversary Special sees the return of David Yost (as Blue Ranger, Billy Cranston), Walter E. Jones (as the first Black Ranger, Zack Taylor), Barbara Goodson (as the voice of Rita Repulsa), Catherine Sutherland (as the Second Pink Ranger, Katherine Hillard), Steve Cardenas (as the second Red Ranger, Rocky DeSantos), Karan Ashley (as the second Yellow Ranger, Aisha Campbell), and Johnny Yong Bosch (as Adam Park, second Black Ranger).

A notable absence from the cast is Jason David Frank, who played Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger and White Ranger, after his death in November 2022.
Amy Jo Johnson, who played Kimberly Hart, the first Pink Ranger, has also taken to Twitter to explain why she won’t be appearing in the Special: “Please stop saying I didn’t do reunion because of money. Simply not true,” she wrote. “Maybe I just didn’t want to wear spandex in my 50s or couldn’t go to NZ for a month. Or none of your beeswax. JDF and I both chose not to for our own reasons. They filmed before he passed.”
However, she did say she was looking forward to watching some of her original castmates again: “Excited to see my pals David Yost and Walter Jones rock it though!!” she commented.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always will be released on Netflix on 19th April 2023. Keep up to date with more news at SciFiNow.
