Wednesday: Mystery, murder and mayhem in Tim Burton Netflix series

News, TV, Wednesday

She’s creepy and she’s kooky, mysterious and spooky, she’s… been through eight schools in five years. Now, Wednesday Addams is enrolling in a brand new school that she seems more suited to but that doesn’t mean the troubles are behind her.

The first teaser for Wednesday, Tim Burton’s Netflix series based on the popular character from The Addams Family is here, and it’s as altogether ooky as you’d expect…

Wednesday is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

We have also been given our first look at Wednesday’s family as a whole, with mother and father Morticia and Gomez Addams alongside brother Pugsley. Check out the first look at the Addams family here…

Directed and executive produced by Tim Burton (Dark Shadows), with showrunners, executive producers and writers Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Smallville), the series stars Jenna Ortega (Scream) as Wednesday.

It also stars Gwendoline Christie (The Sandman), Jamie McShane (The Lincoln Lawyer), Percy Hynes White (The Gifted), Hunter Doohan (Truth Be Told), Emma Myers (Girl in the Basement), Joy Sunday (The Beta Test), Naomi J Ogawa (Skylines), Moosa Mostafa (The Last Bus), Georgie Farmer (The Evermoor Chronicles), Riki Lindhome (Duncanville), with Christina Ricci (who played Wednesday Addams in the 1991 movie directed by Barry Sonnenfeld), alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones (Prodigal Son) as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán (Hightown) as Gomez Addams and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams.
