From five-time Oscar-nominated studio Cartoon Saloon comes a first look at a brand new animation My Father’s Dragon which will be showing on Netflix.
Inspired by the Newbery honored book of the same title by Ruth Stiles Gannett, My Father’s Dragon follows Elmer who, after struggling to cope after a move to the city with his mother, runs away in search of Wild Island and a young dragon who waits to be rescued. Elmer’s adventures introduce him to ferocious beasts, a mysterious island and the friendship of a lifetime.
The amazing cast has also been announced for the movie which includes Jacob Tremblay (Luca), Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things), Golshifteh Farahani (Invasion), Dianne Wiest (I Care a Lot), Rita Moreno (West Side Story), Chris O’Dowd (The Cloverfield Paradox), Judy Greer (Archer), Alan Cumming (Schmigadoon!), Yara Shahidi (Trollhunters), Jackie Earle Haley (Alita: Battle Angel), Mary Kay Place (The Prom), Leighton Meester (Killer Movie: Director’s Cut), Spence Moore II (All American), Adam Brody (Ready Or Not), Charlyne Yi (The Mitchells vs the Machines), Maggie Lincoln, Jack Smith with Whoopi Goldberg (The Stand) and Ian McShane (American Gods).
The film is directed by Studio Cartoon co-founder Nora Twomey (The Breadwinner), from a screenplay by Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) and a screen story by John Morgan and Meg LeFauve.

My Father’s Dragon will be released on Netflix. Air date is TBC
