A new Guillermo del Toro project is always a cause for celebration and his latest, Nightmare Alley, looks to be no different if the latest trailer is anything to go by.
Check it out here…
Nightmare Alley sees charismatic but down-on-his-luck Stanton Carlisle (Bradley Cooper) endearing himself to clairvoyant Zeena (Toni Collette) and her has-been mentalist husband Pete (David Strathairn) at a travelling carnival. Soon, he crafts a golden ticket to success, using this newly acquired knowledge to grift the wealthy elite of 1940s New York society.
With the virtuous Molly (Rooney Mara) loyally by his side, Stanton plots to con a dangerous tycoon (Richard Jenkins) with the aid of a mysterious psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who might be his most formidable opponent yet.
Find out more about the movie with a featurette below featuring del Toro discussing his love of film noir and how he wanted to present Cooper like a movie star from the 1930s…
Nightmare Alley will be in UK and Irish cinemas on Friday 21 January.
