Landing to rave reviews back in September (read ours here), Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings soon heads to Disney+ for Disney+ Day.
To celebrate, we spoke to its director Destin Daniel Cretton about his favourite scene in the whole movie, which you can get a glimpse of in the above and below images.
“It’s the first scene,” Cretton tells us. “The first fight sequence of our movie is something I’m really proud of.”
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings tells the story of Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) a seemingly ‘ordinary’ parking valet from San Fransico. However when a group of assassins takes a pendant that his mother gave him when he was young, Shang-Chi and his best friend Katy (Awkwafina) leave their safe lives and journey to Macau, to warn Shang-Chi’s sister Xialing (Meng’er Zhang) that danger is coming for her as well.
Soon Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind and when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organisation led by his estranged father (Tony Chiu-wai Leung), Shang-Chi realises he must stop him and his Ten Rings cabal…
“It feels very unique even to be able to describe a fight sequence as elegant and beautiful and emotional,” Cretton continues on that epic scene that audiences need to look out for, “but those are the adjectives that come to mind for this first choreography that you’ll experience in the movie.
“I think it’s the first taste that you will be seeing something a little different in this movie…”
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings lands on Disney+ of Disney+ Day on 12 November.
