Don’t be expecting Tinkerbell in Netflix’s new coming-of-age fairy series Fate: The Winx Saga! From creator Brian Young (The Vampire Diaries), this is a live-action reimagining of the Italian cartoon series Winx Club by Iginio Straffi and there isn’t any fairy dust in sight.

Fate: The Winx Saga follows five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.

The series stars Abigail Cowen (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Hannah van der Westhuysen (Grantchester), Precious Mustapha (Endeavour), Eliot Salt  (Normal People), Elisha Applebaum (Undercover Hooligan), Sadie Soverall (Rose Plays Julie), Freddie Thorp (The Discovery of Witches), Danny Griffin (The Gentlemen), Theo Graham (Brief Encounters) and Jacob Dudman (The Stranger).

It also stars Eve Best (Nurse Jackie), Robert James-Collier (Downton Abbey), Josh Cowdery (Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them), Alex Macqueen (The Thick of It) and Eva Birthistle (The Last Kingdom).

Fate: The Winx Saga will premiere globally on Netflix on 22 January 2021.
