These days, we appreciate new television more than ever. As we venture further into this new content desert, the examples of fresh growth are dwindling. One such TV show is The 100, which is currently in the midst of its seventh and final season. As a midseason return, The 100 was one of the final broadcast network shows to wrap production before the outbreak of COVID-19 began and productions everywhere were forced to shut down. This means that, unlike a show like Syfy’s Wynonna Earp which returns this Sunday for the six episodes of Season 4 they managed to film before production was halted, we will be getting a full season of The 100 Season 7 without abnormal interruption.
But that doesn’t mean we won’t be getting some normal interruption! As of right now, The 100 Season 7 is on mini-hiatus for a few weeks. The last episode to air was “The Flock,” which is the ninth episode of the 16-episode season. It aired on July 15th marking the last new episode for a few weeks; The 100 won’t be returning until August 5th. The next new episode is called “A Little Sacrifice.”
What can we expect when The 100 returns? Well, the synopsis teases: “Sheidheda makes his move; a disciple goes rogue.” It sounds like the action on Sanctum will really be kicked into high gear next episode, if that wasn’t already the case. We get a quick glimpse of Emori and Indra together in the trailer, and they look ready to fight. And they’re probably going to have to. Last we left Sanctum, Sheidheda had massacred the Children of Gabriel and many members of Wonkru began to recognize his authority. Things are not looking good for Emori, Indra, and Murphy. Where’s Raven when you need her?
Last episode also dived into Diyoza, Echo, Octavia, and Hope’s training as Disciples. Long story short: Echo took to it like a duck to water and Hope… did not. She was banished to Penance for five years (on Anders’ orders but per Echo’s sentencing suggestion) so, barring any kind of miraculous escape, next time we see Hope, she’s going to be much changed. As the promo for the next episode teases, we will be getting more of Clarke, which is great news. It feels like it’s been lifetimes since we first saw her arrival on Bardo. We have yet to see her truly process Bellamy’s apparent death and Octavia, Echo, and Diyoza’s “choice” to join Team Disciples.
With only seven episodes left, The 100 has a lot to wrap up.
The 100 returns on August 6th. Read more about the season here.
