Bandai Namco is working on a new Dragon Ball Z Action-RPG title. Originally known as Project Z, we learned at E3 2019 that the game is actually called Dragon Ball Z Kakarot and it will focus on some of Goku’s adventures in the manga and anime.
So far, we know the game will cover Goku’s first encounter with Vegeta and other Saiyans as well as his battle against Frieza. We also know that many of Goku’s friends will be part of the fun, including Krillin and Piccolo.
The game is being developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind Naruto Shippuden series, with some help from Toei Animation on the anime side. It’s an exciting collaboration, to say the least, but will this game reach the heights of Dragon Ball FighterZ, which has quickly become a darling for fighting game fans?
We’re also curious to see whether this is an Ultimate Alliance-style game that allows you to assemble a group of famous characters, or if it walks down the Dark Souls path of the genre.
