Jason Momoa is getting his feet wet(ter) on television with Apple. The Aquaman star and Game of Thrones alum will headline See, an upcoming sci-fi drama for the tech company’s burgeoning scripted stable, one of many slated in Apple’s ambitious original series plans.
The series will have Momoa starring in an “epic, world-building, futuristic” drama from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. Hunger Games film franchise director Francis Lawrence has directed the eight-episode series, which we now have our first look at.
Apple TV’s See Cast
Check out the epic trailer for See…
See is set in a future when the human race has lost its sense of sight, and society is forced to discover new ways to socialize, build, hunt, and survive. The status quo is upended when a set of twins are born with the ability to see. Momoa will appear as Baba Voss, a fearless warrior, leader and guardian.

Here’s the full, official description from Apple:
“In the far future, a virus has decimated humankind. Those who survived emerged blind. Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, the father of twins born centuries later with the mythic ability to see—who must protect his tribe against a powerful yet desperate queen who believes it’s witchcraft and wants them destroyed. Alfre Woodard also stars as Paris, Baba Voss’ spiritual leader.”
Apple TV’s See Cast
As reported by Deadline, the pair of Hera Hilmar and Christian Camargo have joined the See cast.
Hera Hilmar will play Maghra, described as a determined mother. Hilmar is best known from her role as Venessa on Starz’s Da Vinci’s Demons, but that might change when her starring role in the Peter Jackson-penned post-apocalyptic sci-fi film, Mortal Engines, arrives on December 14.
Christian Camargo will play Tamacti Jun, the military head of Queen Kane (Sylvia Hoeks). Camargo was recently seen in TV roles on shows such as Manhunt: Unabomber, Penny Dreadful, House of Cards, Haven and Dexter. He’s also been seen in films such as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 & 2, The Hurt Locker and National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
Along with star Jason Momoa, they join set cast members such as Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049), Alfre Woodard (Luke Cage), Yadira Guevara-Prip (Supernatural), Archie Madekwe (Informer) and Nesta Cooper (Travelers).
Steven Knight and Francis Lawrence will serve as executive producers alongside Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kristen Campo.
Momoa, of course, can next be seen as Arthur Curry, King of Atlantis and sardonic member of the Justice League in his first big-screen solo venture, Aquaman, in December.
